I can’t believe it is September now.
August has been somewhat exhausting, somewhat exciting and somewhat enjoyable.
- Firstly, there was Independence Day.
- And then there was Eid-ul-Azha.
And these mean CELEBRATION!!
I don’t know and also don’t get all this back to school going on internet now.
But it is already one month since school started here. My sister has been going to school since 1st August.
Hey, I don’t think I am the only one who gets excited about younger siblings going back to school. RIGHT??
AND I ALSO STARTED A NEW BLOG. PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT!
- I didn’t read much. Opposite to what I hoped
- I have been receiving digital ARCs and I read them on my computer
- Which becomes exhausting because it gives me back pain and my eyesight isn’t very good so my eyes also hurt.
- And it makes me slow at reading. So less books read.
- I don’t put physical books down without finishing them but sadly it is not the case with digital ones.
- I didn’t feel like typing either.
BOOKS I READ THIS MONTH:
I read six books and reviewed four of them.
1. Fawkes by Nadine Brandes
Historical Fiction check, YA Fantasy check, some magical twist check, magic to control colours check, Sword fights check.
This book was fun to read.
You can read my full review here.
2. The Complete Photo Guide to Hand Lettering and Calligraphy The Essential Reference for Novice and Expert Letterers and Calligraphers by Abbey Sy
The Complete Photo Guide to Hand Lettering and Calligraphy The Essential Reference for Novice and Expert Letterers and Calligraphers is written by Abbey Sy and published by Quarto Publishing Group – Creative Publishing International.
This was interesting as well as informative. If you know some calligraphy, or you are totally new or maybe you are an expert, but this book has got you covered.
I highly recommend it. Read my full review here.

3. Step into Magic (Portals to Whyland Book 1) By DAY LEITAO
“Not special. Not chosen. But she’s got magical shoes.
14-year old Karina doesn’t know what she wants, but knows what she’s found—fascinating silver shoes. Fascinating, dangerous, and potentially evil. On the upside, they do bring cool visitors. When a princess invites her to go to Whyland, of course she accepts. There’s that little “let’s destroy the shoes” detail she’s not crazy about, but hey, free trip. Alternate world. Got it?
Perhaps not. Whyland is nothing like she expected. Karina finds herself stuck in a kingdom she doesn’t understand, with no clue on who to trust. Before saving anyone, she’d better save herself—if she figures out how.
For 16-year-old Cayla, destroying the shoes is her much-wanted chance to prove her worth to her father, the king, and gain freedom. It might also be her chance to see Darian after more than one year apart. Does he still like her? Did he ever? But these are not the only questions she finds an answer for. Soon she realizes that all her learning and fighting skills are no match for the truths she’s about to face.”
Step into Magic is a fun YA fantasy adventure. If you like books with friendships between girls, subtle romance, and some mystery, get Step into Magic now.
So I tonight found that in the Editorial Reviews, of this book, on Amazon. And My blog name along with a line by me is quoted. I did not post any review on Amazon and I cannot post reviews on Amazon so this is a surprise!
4. The SPELL SPEAKERS by DAY LEITAO
It is a novella and an introduction to the book mentioned above.
5. TELLING TALES by PENNY PERRICK
This one is a biography which I reviewed here.
6. THE HANGMAN’S SECRET
Its review will be coming soon.
I hosted my first two blog tours!!!!
So other than reading books, what have I been upto?
- Introducing Cover Love
- Also introducing some new graphics and designs in reviews
- Somewhat playing with my theme
- Some animated movies..!!! YAY!!!!!
So I have introduced Cover Love in my blog reviews. But what is this?
So if you are new here or if this is the first post you are seeing then you might not know about it.
I use the following
If the cover is beautiful and catches attention, I have started to use the above graphic made by me before my review. Tell the readers that I love the cover and then post the cover. Next, comes review banner in my post.
I mostly don’t judge books by their covers. But if a cover is beautiful then why not appreciate it?
Books which got “Cover Love”
Also introducing some new graphics and designs in reviews
I made these and started using in August.
I didn’t like this pink one much so stopped using it temporarily.
The following are from July:
Somewhat playing with my theme
So I changed my font which I had been wanting to do for a while.
I am loving my current theme so far. It is simple yet beautiful. It is clean.
I shifted “Categories” to the sidebar as a drop down menu.
And now only displaying “Pages” in the menu above.
Some animated movies..!!! YAY!!!!!
As my blog is not only about books but also about animated movies and digital art so I watched some animated movies. And Enjoyed Them!
I watched the following:
- Death of Superman
- Teen Titans Go! To The Movies

I will be posting my reviews and articles on these soon.
Still Waiting for Following Series and Movies:
- Young Justice
